Tom with two Rising Stars

Tom is an accomplished basketball player and coach who has made an easy transition into becoming a valued member of the Rising Stars family. Prior to joining Rising Stars, Tom worked with the varsity coaching at Germantown Academy (PA) and Syosset High School. His years as a varsity coach helped him gain extensive experience in coaching and developing players as well as acquiring the background needed for helping advise student-athletes on all aspects of college recruiting.

Tom has worked with Rising Stars as a clinician and trainer during the pre/post season with our high school and younger players for over 14 years. Tom serves as the Director of Operations as well as coach for several of our youth teams. The program has grown every year under his leadership and players continue to leave our camps and clinics excited about the new moves they will get to use in their upcoming seasons.

Tom was a four-year letterman on The University of Scranton Men’s Basketball team where he helped the Royals win several conference championships and continually reach the NCAA tournament. He finished top 10 in MAC in 3 pt FG% his senior season. In addition, Tom was a four-year letterman on The University of Scranton lacrosse team where he currently holds the school records for most points by a defenseman in a season, and in a career with 19 goals and 21 assists. In 2015, Tom received distinct recognition when he was inducted onto The University of Scranton’s Athletic Wall of Fame.

Tom is a 5th grade teacher in the Great Neck School District which gives him a good perspective of the young student athlete’s ability to understand and internalize all phases of the game. A native of Farmingdale, N.Y., Tom is married to Bethany LeSueur, former member of the Georgetown University Women’s Basketball Team and Long Island’s All Time Leading Scorer. Tom, Bethany and their 3 children (Tommy, Elizabeth and Erin) currently reside in Garden City, NY.
